In honor of Military Appreciation Month in May, the PGA Tour's Truist Championship recognized Travis Manion Foundation as the charity of the day on Thursday, May 8. The event took place at the Philadelphia Cricket Club for the first time in its history.
As part of this recognition, the Truist Championship honored Brad Adams, a United States Marine Corps veteran who has been a dedicated TMF Veteran Mentor in the Philadelphia area since 2016, as part of its Hometown Heroes program.
Chief Executive Officer Ryan Manion accepted a $25,000 donation on behalf of TMF at the Truist Championship. "Travis Manion Foundation was founded after my brother, 1stLT Travis Manion, was killed in 2007 on his second tour to Iraq," said Manion. "We started the organization to provide support and programming to veterans and families of the fallen right here in the Philadelphia area, and today, 18 years later, we're one of the largest veteran service organizations in the country."

Through this partnership, TMF will be able to grow and expand programming in the Philadelphia area, including its hallmark Character Does Matter (CDM) program for youth. Powered by Under Armour, CDM trains and equips veterans and family members of fallen military heroes to serve as mentors to youth of all ages. To date, over 750,000 students across the country have learned to apply their unique character strengths in their schools, homes, and in their communities from TMF Mentors.
Support from the Truist Championship has also allowed the expansion of Operation Legacy Service Projects, volunteer-led efforts that empower veterans and families of the fallen to fill pressing needs in local communities.
